So What is all the Hype about Essential Oils

So what is all this Hype?

So you've heard the term Essential oils, but what are they really? Why do I want to use them, why are they important to me, sure they smell good, but what's the hype?  Sound familiar? If it sounds familiar, that's because I thought those words too, I was interested because I heard they were natural and holistic, but what are they?

You may hear your friends talking about them or posting on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, (Yes, that was a shameless plug for our handles)  You may see co-workers with these misting machines at their desks or see strangers smelling the necklace as they walk by, or waiting ever so patiently in a long line at the store??  Ok, so I threw that last one in because that would be me, sniffing my jewelry while whipping out my little bottles of oil in line and chatting up the customers behind me.

The reality is Yes, that is what these oils do! They make you want to talk to everyone and share about the wonderful things essential oils have done for you and your loved ones. Really, you can't help that when you see someone who you know will benefit from the knowledge you have learned, you are compelled to strike up a conversation.....usually starting with " I have an oil for that"

To answer the question simply, Essential Oils are the life force of plants and herbs, as blood and cells are to our own bodies. Just as we are complex human beings made up of many constituents that each serve a specific purpose in our bodies, so are the essential oils in the living beauty of nature that surrounds us.

EOs (essential oils) have been used for healing and cleansing across many cultures for centuries and date back to biblical times.  They are mentioned in the Bible numerous times over for various things. A couple weeks after I was introduced to Young Living EOs, I had the pleasure of attending a seminar taught by Dr. David Stewart on Healing Oils of the Bible, a great read by the way which really shows how these Essential Oils are gifts for us from our Creator.

There are lots of ways that EOs can helps us in our daily lives, from bringing our focus in on meditation to uplifting and exciting us when in need, and so much more. There are  books to teach us, but really no better way than using these gifts ourselves or hearing first hand from others how to use them and what they have accomplished with them.  One site I like for hearing first hand and broadening my own thinking is on Oil Testimonials. It's a place where folks like you and I share experiences and expertise with each other, and I love the search tool for what ails ya ;-)

There is so much more I'll continue to get into in future posts. For instance how I got started with EOs & Young Living, and my photo gallery I started from the beginning of my essential oil journey- (Yes, those pictures you take with no beauty cam and want to delete immediately!-but they show a before and after so they have a purpose) I'll share those too :-)  In the mean time, if you have questions, zip Rachel or I an email  message.
